Frank Gerdine has been committed to serving the Chino Valley and its working families since he was fifteen years old.
Frank knows our schools, being a proud graduate of Litel Elementary, Hidden Trails Elementary, and Canyon Hills Junior High.
Frank is thankful that Chino Valley schools set up him up for success, and that is why he wants the same for all Chino Valley students and families today.
Frank earned a scholarship to attend California State University, Dominguez Hills, where he earned a degree in Clinical Psychology. He went on to earn a graduate degree on scholarship at the University of North Carolina at Greensboro, where Frank studied Sport and Exercise Psychology.
Frank’s academic pursuits were driven by his experience being a youth sports coach and active member in the athletic department. Frank engaged in research to help advance the field of youth sports, and his contributions to technology to help young athletes has been recognized by Forbes magazine.
Frank is also blessed to have had the privilege to engage in research for Alzheimer’s Disease and dementia by using physical activity as an intervention for people who have a history of these diseases. Frank’s contributions have been featured in national publications.
Frank’s entire career has been dedicated to public education, first as a college instructor at the university level. Frank took this experience to local public schools, working as teacher in both the Torrance Unified and Rowland Unified School Districts.
Frank currently works for the County of Los Angeles, working on the ERG Board for Health and Wellness for the Los Angeles Superior Court, and is a proud member and leader in Services Employees International Union Local 721.
Frank and his wife, Rose, are proud residents of Chino Hills, where they raise their foster children. They are also proud dog parents to Leonidas.
Frank is committed to taking his experiences as an educator, coach, and father to make a difference on the Chino Valley School Board.
